Within 20 years more than 1000 individual computers linked to those 4 computers host (server) Users can connect their computers and mobile devices through wire or wireless technology. Wireless modem: uses a wireless communications technology (cellular radio, satellite) to connect to the internet. Today: people connect to the internet through broadband [internet service] because of its fast data transfer speeds and its always-on connection. Wired: cable internet service, dsl (digital subscriber line), and fiber to the premises (fttp) Wireless: wifi, mobile broadband, fixed wireless, and satellite internet service. Hotspot: a wireless network that provides internet connections to mobile computers and devices.
