Barbarians - herded animals and/or cultivated plants, and they also invented new subsistence tools and techniques such as iron implements and irrigated fields. Civilization - all advances were incorporated into this ethnical period. Domestic groups- those whose members live in the same household. Subsistence strategies- hunting and gathering, pastoralism, horticulture, and agriculture. Domestication- regular human interference with the reproduction of other species in ways that makes them beneficial to ourselves.
