Reproducing the frame: the surface onto which the image is reflected. Charge-coupled device (ccd: when the image plane might be a strip of film in a still or motion picture camera or a computer chip, complementary metal-oxide semiconductor (cmos) same thing but in digital still or video camera. Field of view: from the focal length how much of the scene in front of the lens is included in the frame. Angle of view: the mathematical angle of a lens" field of view, wide, normal or narrow. Prime: lenses that have only one single focal length in one lens casing. Zoom lens/variable focal length: allows for full range of focal lengths with within one lens housing, zoom in telephoto, zoom out wide angle. In extending its angle of view beyond normal vision, objects at the extreme edges of the frame start to curve toward the center of the frame.
