It used to be that schools did not have laws about bringing weapons onto school properties but after a bunch of school shootings occurred laws had to be put in place about carrying a weapon on school property. Laws help resolve conflict and protect the public: some people have differences about what kind of situations are deemed appropriate or not. If this occurs society must implement a way to resolve this conflict: therefore, societies developed law and regulations to function as conflict resolution mechanisms, rules evolve to deal with conflict between one person"s impulses and other people"s rights. In earlier times, before laws were established to punish people for misbehaving people. Took the law into their own hands : but now in the united states, all governmental entities have enacted laws to protect the public. This court ruled in favor of the state and overturned the previous decision. The first choice: rights of individuals versus the common good.
