Health is shaped by many factors, and to improve women"s health it is important to look at more than physical outcomes. Women of color are shown to have way more health problems than. Three dimensions tested: health status, access and utilization of care, and social determinants. Few states had consistently high or low disparities across all three dimensions. States with small disparities in access to care were not same states with small disparities in health status or social determinants. Each racial and ethnic group faced its own particular set of health and health care changes. States in the south central, mountain and midwest areas tended to have larger disparities compared to national. New aids cases and self-reported fair or poor health were the indicators with the highest disparity scores.
