Document Summary
The general pattern which is the process of elimination goes as follows: Elimination of members who are quiet - a quality of a weak leader. Elimination of members who express strong, unqualified assertions. Members who will provide a solution in a time of crisis. Member who will exhibit effective listening skills. There exists a stalemate if more than one member acquires a lieutenant, possible stalemate. Manifest conformity to group norms, values, and goals! Displaying proper motivation needed in order to lead. Bias will decrease as the number of women/ethnic minorities increases to 20% Familiarity and communication competence will overcome biases. These are necessary but not sufficient leadership traits. Leadership resides in the person, not the transactions within group context. Balanced emphasis on both task and social dimensions laissez -faire. No one style of leadership is suitable for all situations. As readiness levels increase, effective leadership requires reduced direction and less-socio-emotional support.
