He noticed finches living on the coast with diff. beaks shapes than from those living in an island"s interior. Species: a group of related organisms that can interbreed & produce fertile, viable offspring. Thomas malthus- population was limited by food supply. Habitat: the specific area of the natural environment in which an organism lives.
