There has been a recent rise in hero movies, comics, and graphic novels. Beowulf is a part of this phenomenon with the animated/live action film released in 2007. Based upon this trend, discuss why there might be a cultural desire to share narratives of heroes and how. Beowulf fits into this cultural desire (use specific examples from the text). My view of heroics being seen as a cultural desire is as an escape from suffering or a reaction against not being able to place blame for the wrongdoings of an entire people.
