Insecticides are responsible for the highest percentage of occupational poisoning cases (49%) Health care workers are at risk if they are exposed to blood or bodily fluids of patients or coworkers. The major route of exposure to these agents (82% of cases) is percutaneous exposure. Via contaminated sharp instruments such as needles and scalpels.
