To develop a concept of goodwill, we must develop the concept of duty. May be hard to notice difference between action and subject. Just because a person has done an honest deed, doesn"t mean the person is honest. Actions cannot be done to satisfy self needs. If an unhappy person continues living w/o finding a purpose out of duty, has a moral. In order to help others in distress, you must help yourself. If man understood suffering of others, he would put his own needs aside to help them. Pg 13 themselves pg14 content pg15 secure something. Humans have a desire to obtain happiness even w/o a duty. But the desire to retrieve happiness may be difficult if they don"t have determination to. If happiness doesn"t determine will, all other things like health seem to not matter. Love cannot be ordered, it must come from will and duty.
