A structure of prayer is important in most religions. In many, this involves the use of prayer beads or similar devices, to keep track of where one is in one"s prayers. (above there is aroman. When we look at the perceived value of this, much depends on how various activities such as this are used, and the attitude of the people involved. Not all activities are the same when it comes to repetition. Repetition can serve a variety of purposes, including memory, orientation in time, and various emotional and psychological functions. The idea of stability is one of these, but there are many others, too, such as discipline, time management, and others. Some activities that we do as a matter of course give stability and keep us centered and organized.
