Document Summary

Charge for conductors are only on the surface! Any two points inside a conductor in electorstatic equilibrium. Exterior electric field of a charged conductor is perpendicular to the surface. Surface charge desnity = sharpest at the points. Equipotential surface close to an electrode must roughly match the shape of the electrode. If wire is connected, conductors will have the same potential! For parallel plate capacitors, the total charge is 0. Gain charge by passing electrons from one plate to another. Plates will have a -q plate and a q plate. Total energy of capacitor is the negative energy with the positive energy. Work done by battery charges the conductor. Capacitor attached to a battery charges until the voltage of the capacitor is the same as the battery.
