Document Summary

Weight is the force of gravity acting on mass. Newton"s law of gravity: the equation that describes the pull of gravity between any two objects that have mass attract each other with a force called gravity. The gravitational force exerted on people by earth is called weight two objects. The force of attraction is proportional to the mass, when distance gets bigger, the force gets smaller (f = g(mm)/r^2) M: the mass of the pulling object. M: mass of the object being pulled. If an object exerts a force on you, then you exert the same force back on it. Moon is attracted to the earth by gravity. Escape velocity: the velocity needed to reach the moon (7 miles/s) Gravity on the earth keeps the satellite to stay in the circular orbit. Stay above the same location of the earth at all times.
