This is connected to constructivist learning because children construct and learn knowledge from what they are seeing and doing right in the moment and fit their observations to their own actions. For example, pretend play allows children to practice new symbolic knowledge and become familiar with the various roles they see others play in society. In accordance to constructivist learning, children learn how people act in society and within the classroom, children familiarize themselves with how they should behave in a school setting.
