Of all the primates, only hominins consistently walk erect on two feet. Bipedalism: locomotion in which an animal walks on its two hind legs. Hominins are capable of both a power grip, to hold small or delicate objects without dropping or breaking them. Also have remarkable hand-eye coordination and highly sophisticated brains- special areas dedicated to speech and language. Hominin teeth reflect the omnivorous diet- not vey specialized die to the fact that we use tools and cooking to prepare our food. Jaws can move vertically and horizontally; molars have thicket enamel. Modern humans have chins while other primates do not. Hominin females engage in intercourse at anytime throughout the year, not just around the time they can conceive. The bonobo female does not engage in intercourse throughout the year- not as interested in sex as often as hominin females.
