Free rider: someone (corporation or individual) that avoids the positive efforts that other are making - if everyone were to get a "free ride," the entire enterprise would collapse. External costs: harmful impacts suffered by people not involved in the actions that created them (water pollution, reduced fish populations, aesthetic degradation)
