Vasocongestion: when blood flows to the the genital region because of the relaxation of smooth muscles around arteries, causing blood vessel dilation. Erection: corpora cavernosa and corpus spongiosum fill with blood. Vagina lubrication: fluids seep through the vaginal walls. Orgasmic platform: when the vagina tightens and thickens gripping the penis. Myotonia: when muscles contract in the vaginal region and throughout the body (like nipples) Orgasm: a series of rhythmic contractions of the pelvic organs. Male orgasm: (stage 1) the vas, seminal vesicles, and prostate contract and force the ejaculate into the base of the urethra). (stage: the penis contracts and forces the semen out. Everything gets unswelled and goes back to its normal state. Detumescence: the loss of erection in penis (first stage still enlarged) (second stage a slow emptying) Refractory period: the time after arousal until they can get aroused again. Triphasic model: hypotheses that the first step is actually desire and they use.
