Homophony - where a single form has 2 or more entirely different meanings. Lexical ambiguity - single form has 2 or more meanings. Paraphrase - 2 sentences that have the same meaning. Truth conditions - sentences are true under the same circumstances. Entailment - when the truth of one sentence guarantees the truth of another sentence. Contradiction - when 2 sentences cannot both be true. Connotation - the set of associations that a word"s use can evoke. A referent can be the same for 2 different things, doesn"t mean they are equal. Componential analysis/semantic decomposition - breaking a word"s intension into smaller semantic components.
