There are high ends (which are ends in themselves) Politics- we can only have a rough idea of what is good because good news means different things for different people. So the argument is what it means to be good and be happy. A person who plays the flute is good. Everyone who has something like this is virtuous, rational, active, etc. Some argue that we"re not able to see true happiness until after death, but if someone always acts virtuous then they are always happy. Vegetative aspect: nutrition and growth have no connection to virtue. There are two kinds of virtue, intellectual and moral. There are 3 ways aristotle knows someone is virtuous: they know they"re being virtuous, they choose to act that way, their behavior manifests itself.
