Schizophrenia delusions: 1-2 % of population develops schizophrenia. In us: majority live independently or with family. Also large population in jails, prisons, homeless shelters, streets: list of positive symptoms. Disorganized/ abnormal behavior including catatonia: negative symptoms list. Self deceptions are at least possible where delusions are not . It is possible but not likely you will win the lottery. Not possible that body is dissolving and floating into space. People harboring self deceptions may think about these beliefs occasionally but people harboring delusions tend to be preoccupied with them. Ex: belief that a newscaster is reporting on your movements or that a random manhole cover was put there so you could see it. Belief that random events or comments by others are directed at them. May believe that comments of local politician are directed at them: grandiose delusions- beliefs that one is special being or posses special powers.
