Approach to education and schooling that tends to examine the meanings attached to school practices. Not only for students but also for teachers, administrators, and parents. Also explores the symbolic aspects of education for example, curriculum materials, language, and knowledge: labels highly influence the future of students, self-fulfilling prophecy. According to recent statistics, university and college campuses are now increasingly being populated by women. We should be cautious in how we interpret these statistics. Racially marginalized men and women are missing from this sector. Work is central to our existence has strong implications for our lives. Work is a social product structured, nature of jobs, rewards of work are all products of social relationship within people (work has taken on many forms throughout time and in specific places) People seek meaning in their work quality of work matters to workers; when faced with job loss and retirement some people express that they miss working.
