Small but prolific group of writers/activists who spread the notion that the holocaust never happened. 3rd reich/nazis sought to uproot jews from germ, not kill--mass murder not a goal. Gas chambers in death camps did not exist, archaeological remains are of air raid shelters. However many jews killed by nazis, it was far less than 6 mil. The jews that did die in wwii were not killed bc jewish, but bc criminals/spies/partisan fighters. Jews fabricated documentary evidence of genocide in order to make germans look guilty. Ex: say anne frank"s diary a forgery. After wwii, germans tortured in order to elicit false confessions re: mass murder of jews. Not just about denying holocaust, about repainting germans as victims. These claims have stayed consistent, but the way they were packaged has changed. Later on, deniers present themselves as reasonable scholars, in search of historical truth. In doing so, deniers distort historical evidence.
