Knowledge and history are held by people, or groups of people; this leads to a close-knit community that must stay together through ime to survive. Oral tradiion (eg. greek epic poetry) allows for lexibility, adaptability, and stability. Radical (conversaion): can accomplish or disrupt: what happens in a conversaion, the kinds of conversaion, in a conversaion you can either accomplish something and come to a consensus, or you can disrupt something. Conservaive (chants): consolidaion (combining a number of things into a whole) and airmaion (emoional support) of community: for example, a song is more conservaive. Development of writen language and laws allowed the roman empire to expand its power and territory. Literacy allows for the visual representaion of ideas and the ability to compare and contrast them. When the roman empire collapsed, the development of local writen languages led to the development of european naion states.
