Chapter 12 - sexuality across the life span. Sexual practices that are deemed acceptable and/or unacceptable. Engaging in risky behaviours involving sex and sexuality. Fetuses, babies and children exhibit sexual responses, but we do not know what the responses mean to them, unlike adults. I"ll show you mine if you"ll show me yours. Difficult to conduct research regarding masturbation as parents may not discuss sexual conduct. Children"s reactions are largely based on culture and mandatory sex education programs. Where do babies come from? : may be curious about different family structures. Pressure to conform (dress code, standards of correct slang, group standards, sex and drugs: within their own gender: Mutual display of genitals with or without touching: mutual masturbation. At a stage where there are neither here nor there difficult, confusing and conflicting. Adapt to physical and emotional changes of puberty. Physical characteristics (distribution of hair, fat, muscle mass, deepening voice)
