It is a psychoic disorder, which involves a loss of contact with reality, making it very hard for a person to disinguish between what is real and what is not. Who: schizophrenia is a severe mental disorder, characterized by profound disrupions in thinking, afecing language, percepion, and the sense of self. Divided into symptoms that are (acute) posiive and (chronic) negaive. Some similarity with bipolar disorder, auism signiicant misdiagnosis with bd in adult and auism in children. Most commonly auditory (commentary, instrucions, two voices ighing, degradaion) Usually frightening but can occasionally be comforing. Beliefs held despite improbable (impossible) nature, maintained even when demonstrated to be false. Previously deined as ixed false beliefs but this was tricky. Someimes false beliefs are not delusional (e. g. earth"s lat)
