Sc joint: medial end of clavicle meeting sternum. Damage to this joint can result in clavicle popping anteriorly, but posteriorly can have impact on abc"s, ex. Ac joint: lateral end of clavicle meeting acromion process. Two joint surfaces that slide relative to one another (planar) Two ligaments grab on to lateral end of clavicle to hold it down from corticoid process (relative to acromion process) corticoclavicular complex ligaments provide stability (more than small ac joint ligaments) Separated shoulder : separating clavicle from acromion, reduces integrity of shoulder girdle. Independent work : severity grading: rockwood classification system = type 1, type. Direct impact to lateral aspect : aggravating motions: ex. Pain is localized/specific to ac joint: 3. Swelling, but not dramatic (small pocket, but significant disruption could lead to bruising into trapezius and armpit: 4. Sleep is difficult (can"t lie on shoulder or stomach)
