How does capitalism"s organization of work shape how we live and how we relate to oth- Early concept of marx, developed as he questioned fulfilling human life. Alienation is a process or condition of estrangement or separation. Under capitalism, workers become separate from the products they make, the process, them- selves, their own desires and capacities and estranged from others. Artisen: craftsperson - not considered alienated because they have a lot of control of their life and their day ex. Furniture maker; do their own mental and manual labour - design the product, how to put it together and manually put it together on their own time. Decide what they want to do with it, sell it or keep it. Most people under capitalism live in alienation - hired by someone else to work for a wage. We give up control over what is made and how it is made to the manager of the company.
