Intension denotation, reference, extension connotation: most words we don(cid:1685)t need to actively find an intension in our mind. Played 20 questions online, using the word (cid:1684)tofurkey(cid:1685) It guessed pasta, noodle, macaroni, macaroni and cheese, kimchi. We play this because it helps to define binary features. Binary features for intensions: fruit: +edible, +plant, +sweet, vegetable: +edible, +plant, -sweet. This is an effective way to represent concepts: tidy, useful, way of representing meanigns.
