Scope of mammographic qa: same scope as for gen rad, check all factors affecting, patient care, patient dose, diagnostic quality of images, & dollars, difference between mammo & gen rad: mammo has higher standards. Medical physicist"s responsibilities: verify safety & compliance of installation, evaluate safety procedures, participate in qa program (ensure implemented, verify optimal iq, ensure qc. Instruct personnel in radiation protection practice equipment calibrated: actively engaging, test & report (mammo x-ray, image acquisition, image display, ancillary equipment, test all possible pieces and create a report, record to prove what has been done, understand sc36.
