Model: a systematic and unique approach to method, procedure and technique, based on certain principles: humanistic model (1950s) In every human being there is an innate responsiveness to music and within every personality, one can reach a music- child or music person. Initially working with children with developmental delays/ special needs now used for all different client groups. Idea that a music- child is not affected by any diagnosis healthy, alive and is well and that"s all that matters. 2 music therapists: create the music and other one works with clients (facilitating with movements, etc: creative music therapy- nordoff robins. Create music that sounds aesthetically pleasing (sounds good to the ear) Music becomes a form of communication between the client and the therapist not much verbal interaction (none of asking the client how they feel, etc: analytically oriented music therapy. Personal development is the focus and not the aesthetics of the musical product.
