Theoretical foundations of feminism not as much interested in politicized activism. Real focus = gender and how it was lacking from discussions of justice. Believed that because we ignored gender, certain things she deemed unacceptable were allowed to persist. By ascribing certain things to private life, we make them a-political. Two problems relating to gender: (1) it has been absent from our discussions of justice (2) due to our neglect of gender, certain unacceptable dynamics have been able to persist. Public life things we would not want the government to be involved with (ex = some family things) Private life things we would want the government to be involved. The perception of a sharp dichotomy between [public and domestic] depends on the view of society from a traditional male perspective that tacitly assumes different natures and roles for men and women.
