Therefor the 3 methods are: experiment, observation, third party reports. Sees children as ego centric : egocentric: children act only in a way they are told, self-centered do not take in the experience of feeling of others. Scholars like vygotsky are mote cognizant of the interpretive, social natural of child development, however. Still not fully understanding how children create and assign meaning for racial and ethnic concepts. Seeing race and ethnicity as a given instead of how they interact and how they create, assign meanings around race and ethnicity. Key interest: the role that structure of social positions have on the types of personality and sense of self people develop. Role of social categories and positions such as race ethnicity, gender, class, sexual orientation, age, etc . , and how they impact or influence identity development.
