Midterm photos will be in black and white. When they are found in little bits, in can be difficult to decipher what the whole image used to look like. Shows the minoan affinity for depictions of nature: remember that the minoans love showing nature, but almost always depict them in unnatural colours eg. a blue monkey, like the real and abstract coming together. Often see the ground reflected onto the top of the image as well, acting as a sort of framing tool. Blue is often the colour used for animals: we see it used to show birds, fish, etc. We also find lively and colourful frescoes in houses. Very much like pottery in style: nature in natural settings but also somewhat abstract, you see these styles reflected on pottery eg. kamires ware. Keen observers of nature, but often colours are wrong: the physical shapes are correct but you get polychrome rocks and blue monkeys.
