Created moveable type; little lead molds of letters, that, combined, created paragraphs of type that could have ink rolled onto them and then put under the press with paper. Gutenberg"s work was more legible than most bibles at his time. Gutenberg planned on creating 180 42 line bibles. Given 2 carloads of wine by state for his work. Print shops spread across the world, out of mites. Books of law, bibles, and dictionaries were the first examples of printed works. After printing all the books that have been read, gutenberg looked to print something that hasn"t been published before; novels, newspapers. Risky; chance of being rejected by the public; money would have been lost. Affected the social structure of the 1400"s.
