Deviant condition is often an ascribed status and how they were born (disability. *not morally wrong*) what is considered the norm and how people fit inside or outside those social norms. Negative deviance is deviance(cheating not liked by anybody) Deviance admiration (serial killer following charles manson"s girls), bart simpson is another underachieves and is proud of it. Rate busting someone who overconforms a keener (someone who dominates a class discussion, but the peers in the class won"t be judged well) Positive deviance someone who overconforms and is commended for it, ex. nelson mandela challenging forms of racism and creating a more inclusive society. Definitions of deviance change over time ex. Definitions of deviance change over social space (ex. Marijuana at school lecture) or geographically (alcohol cultural understands america versus italy)
