Theories on work + family: classical theories. How to get people to do their jobs in society. Doesn"t believe that jobs should be equal, but he is interested in everyone doing their particular job. Needed to conform and not change the social order. Mechanical solidarity: how to get people to operate, consent, and conform to a society structure before mechanical structures. Organic solidarity: people are doing their specific, during the industrial. We live in a highly complex society. Looked at suicide is the ultimate form of non conformation. The family is kept together through the gender divison of labour. Was interested in change, that happens through activism and protest. The masses will take up arms, and overthrow capitalism and it will be replaced with socialism, and then ultimately communism. Families are essential to the role of reproduction. The men who represented themselves as the ruling class, took ownership of their wives and children.
