Document Summary

I can clearly and distinctly think of my mind as separate from my body & i can clearly imagine them coming apart. Therefore, my mind and body are distinct things. Implicit premise: the existence of a perfectly good god guarantees the truth of what i clearly and distinctly perceive. I am a thinking thing, i am my mind. I passively and involuntarily receive sensory information about the world. Something other than me must produce that information. It must be either a) physical stuff b) god. We have no indication that is comes from god. My subjective experience clearly teaches me that i have a body. God is no deceiver: my mind isn"t just riding around in my body, we feel the states of our body (pain, hunger, thirst) I"m connected to it, the mind is a different thing from the body but our bodies and minds interact: they can come apart, but they are somehow unified.
