Personality: characteristics in uenced by biological predisposition and their past that changes how they perceive things. Perception: process of interpreting to give meaning, ppl base actions on their interpretation of their reality. Three components: a perceiver attitudes, motives, interests, experience, expectations target being perceived: novelty, ambiguity, mention, sound, size, background, proximity situation context that everything is happening under time, work setting, social setting. Each component in uences perceiver"s impression or interpretation of target. High context situational variables look through global approach. Low context culture look at individual elements. Thematic apperception test: show subject vague picture w/ many interpretation. subject writes a story. Asch experiment - line experiment where person conforms. Lo3. 3 describe the main biases in person perception. Factors that in uence our selection: interest, need, aesthetics, biology.
