If we did, we would have a very simple view towards science. I. e that there is simple static method of science and that there was no science before this this. Also, if we were to do this, science of the future would dismiss us as science of the past . So the reason you should study different science is because it teaches that there can be a genuine science with a different method. Even to this day, we have some similarities to the 4 elements. Also, these elements are characterized by sensible qualities (hot and cold) and (wet and dry). If you accept this, believe is the idea of transformability (elements can transform to one another). Just change to sensible quality to transform element. The possibility of alchemy follows directly from transformation. Humors are also characterized by hot or cold. A specific balance of the 4 humors to the individual is known as temperament.
