When the cows walk cross the grass, it causes insects to jump out. Neither species can reproduce without the other: this example is related to reproduction but not survival, the wasps and the figs have coevolved, the wasps have complex reproductive behaviours in the fig receptacle that ensures pollination. Wasp larvae develop by eating some of the fig seeds: this coevolution allows some seeds to be eaten, while some are not eaten, in the example, there are male and female flowers on the receptacle. Then you have the wasps that come along. They position the eggs inside the female flowers. There are both short-styled and long-styled female flowers. The way the wasps lay their eggs, they cannot get them down into the long-styled ovary. The seeds will not be eaten by the young wasps, but the short-styled will be eaten. Seeds of many plants can only germinate in this shade.
