Arteries: muscular and more elastic walls, high pressure, blood flow away from heart, driven out at a high force. Veins: direct blood back to the heart - one directional flow, thin walls, valves. Capillaries: connects the two pathways, capillary beds ensure that all cells receive oxygen and nutrients and removed waste. Left side comes right off the aorta: left common carotid, left subclavian. Head and neck arteries: 2 branches of right common carotid, external carotid to face and neck, moves external to the skull. If you obstruct blood from one system, there is another way blood can be given to the brain. Inferior mesenteric: descending colon, sigmoid, rectum, lowest of the three. Symmetrical organs of the abdominal region: renal artery, right and left supplies kidneys, adrenal, on top of the kidneys, suprarenal (adrenal) glands, release adrenaline into the blood, gonadal, testicular artery or ovarian artery (depending on your sex)
