Sudden death is what we strive for, we want to be high functioning for as long as possible and have a quick painless death at the end of life. When patient"s wishes are met, both patients and their families experience less strain and improved quality of life. End of life care is right at the end really close to death. Palliative care is once you know you have a chronic illness you are considered palliative. Type of care is depending on the dying trajectory. You have to work though this death and bounce back. Not set up for a long period of bereavement.
