Complement mac how complement can kill things; in addition to that there are also parts of complement that stick to the outside (opsonization) so other things can recognize and stay. In addition, other bits of complement are released in the pro-inflammatory. Complement has blown holes in it and covered it with stuff. Once monocytes are out of the circulation and in the tissue, they become macrophages who watch for the bacteria coming in. Macrophages have prrs that recognize pamps on bacteria and can also recognize opsonized bacteria.
