Credentialism occurs when the jobs you do need more and more education. Overtime we become less and less willing to put ourselves out there and be wrong. We have to question the way that education is being taught; limiting your approach to solving specific problems. Durkheim has stated that education has become the new teacher of morality. One of the functions of education is to teach and prepare all of its students to be valuable members of their future society; essentially it is a form of socialization. Analyze how social structures influence how successful someone will become in regards to education. Living in environments w/ lots of noise change your brain and make it harder to work in a classroom. At a macro level we look at everything going on outside of the schools in relation to how education happens (i. e. political, economics, culture)
