Document Summary

Marketers have to aggressively find new vehicles through which to advertise. Ex: book a trip to miami, get e-mail about restaurants in miami. Ad clutter: our environment is cluttered with ads. Ad fatigue: getting fatigued with all the advertising. Advertisements have to stand out in order to attract your attention. Fear that there will be consumerism backlash, consumers will get sick of advertising and will actually be counter-productive. 1980s we started to see more interesting advertising (ex: advertising on park meters, inside doors of toilet stalls, advertisement on cows, etc) Have to be careful with the audience you"re targeting, some audience may be offended with the humor you"re putting into the ad. 3d billboards came later on as technology changed. As technology has changed, advertising has progressed. Tv on side of trucks, much controversy since the tv could be distracting to drivers around.
