Describes content and structure of a webpage. Html is a markup language, being text-based. An html element usually consists of a start tag and a end tag with content in. Html is saved with an extension . html. Basic structure of html: tags that enclose content. Doctype: describes the type of document for browser. Head: describes tinfo about the html page content. All pages start with , which is used for html5. For page titles we use and Head element contains info about the web page. Title element is contained within the head element and displays the web browsers title. ex. The title of a browser on your facebook would be facebook just like how your tab shows it. Html5 requires that the charset used to encode the document be specified. In the head section of our html page we include since utf is a standard 8-bit encoding used by virtually all servers these days.
