Document Summary

Canadian economic problems need to be addressed, they are not addressed by our current prime minister. Within the last 30 years canada has had a decline in the increase of per capita output, which makes the division more difficult. Per capita output (goods/services) is divided by the population to give us a form of measurement of canada"s wealth/economy. Hdi (human development index) tries to sum of the development of the economy/measures development. Canada in fact used to be the first on all indicators in the 80"s and 90"s, and also the most competitive. 2011 canada dropped, due to social and economic problems that are made clear. To measure the inequality what"s factored in is comparing the top to the bottom which makes canada fall from the 6th place in the hdi to the 12th place in the ihdi (see handout)
