In the 60s and 70s, the typical employee worked m-f with a clear 9-5 type-like schedule. This isn"t the case anymore for a large portion of those who work because how we define the workplace includes anywhere your phone or computer can go. Even if you"re an employee who works flexible home hours, managers need to check in on their well-being at work. One of the biggest challenges to keeping the well-being of employees is that now workers never get away from the workplace virtually. Communication technology allows employees who are technical and professional to do their work at home or anywhere they want. This means that a lot of them feel like they aren"t a part of the team. Another challenge is that organizations are now asking employees to work longer. This also includes email and texting always being on.
