CAS BI 211 Lecture Notes - Lecture 20: Digestion, Partial Pressure, Rate Equation

27 views7 pages

Document Summary

You use the dalton law to arrive at this conclusion. The systemic arterial blood is going to re ect the alveoli so it will have decreased pressure as well (henry"s law). Hemoglobin saturation in the systemic venous blood would decrease because we have less than normal oxygen. The ph is going to be higher than usual because co2 will bring the ph down and lack of co2 will bring the ph up. If someone is hyperventilating (getting rid of all co2) this will change the ph and make it more basic. Part 2) partial pressure will decrease because of dalton law. Hemoglobin saturation will decrease because there is less oxygen. Breath rate will increase because we have less oxygen available (we need to meet the needs). We have a ow rate issue and we cannot get oxygen in the alveoli ow rate law.
