Document Summary

Historically, the treatment of minority diverse groups in america has always put these groups at a disadvantage both socioeconomically and personally. Action by the government has allowed for a form of assistance that provides back to minority groups such as african american and hispanics. Some argue that the affirmative action is unjust because it serves as a form of reverse racism especially in situations such as university admissions. According to these individuals, making a judgment based on an arbitrary factor, for example the race on is born into is unjust because a person s race is not something that they could choose. Furthermore, it has been argued that giving special consideration when applying to universities or employment to those who have traditionally faced discrimination is essentially increasing differences between races rather than elimination race as a factor overall.
